1. James G. Prentice was b. Jul 1829 in CT. His first known appearance is in the 1880 New London, CT census where his occupation is given as "Sailor." He appears there with his wife.
He m. Emma in 1859 per the 1900 census. Emma was b Jun 1840, CT. In the 1880 census He was then 51 and she was 40. No children were shown in that 1880 census so they either had no children, or none had survived, or they had moved out of the home.
James and Emma also later appear in the 1900 New London census where James appears as James G. Prentis.
The only clue we have so far as to the identity of James G. Prentice's parents comes from the 1900 census which that both of his parents were b. in CT.
