Kerry Prentice, by email of 10 Jul 2002, has directed our attention to the following family:
1. George Prentice was b. c. 1795-1800.
He m. Sarah Kemp on 13 May 1822 in St. Martins in the Field, Westminister, London. In 1838 he lived on Wick St., Hackney. In 1838 he was a Victualler living on Wick Street in Hackney. In 1838 and 1851 he was a Victualler, and in 1851 at Three Tuns public house, Narrow Street, Ratcliff, London. Known children:
- James Prentice, bap. 8 Jan 1825, St. Leonards, Shoreditch. He does not appear in the 1881 census.
- Richard George Prentice, b. 6 Jan 1825 and chr. 13 Mar 1825, Saint Luke Old Street, Finsbury, London. Not in 1881 census.
- William James Prentice, b. 6 Feb 1838, Wick Street, Hackney. Not in 1881 census.
- Phoebe Prentice, bap. 9 Feb 1843, St. Botolph Without Aldgate, London.
In checking the IGI, we found a couple possibilities:
- He might be the George Thomas Prentice, chr. 4 Jun 1797. Saint Mary-St. Marylebone Road, St. Marylebone, London, son of William and Susanna Prentis
- He might be the George Prentice, chr. Nov 1801, Saint Mary-St. Marylebone Road, St. Marylebone, London, sonof John and Mary Prentice.
