1. Abram P. Prentice was b. c. 1866 in Indiana. Curiously, he does not appear in the 1870, 1880 or 1900 census. By 1908 he had moved to PA and by 1910 to Van Buren Co., MI where he appears in the census with his mother, wife and daughter.
He m. Lillian. She was b. c. 1867 in PA. Known Children:
- Lillian F. Prentice, b. c. 1908, PA. At home in 1910 in Van Buren Co., MI.
Also living in the household in 1910 is Sarah B. Prentice, b. c. 1840, OH and called "mother".
Abram and his family do not appear in any other census data or database available on Ancestry.com, from 1850 through 1930.
The only clues we have so far comes from the 1910 census which says that Abram's father was b. in NY and that his mother, Sarah B. Prentice (b. c. 1840, OH), was living with them in 1910. However, like her son, she does not appear in any prior census.
We suppose it might be possible, although unlikely, that they were Moonshiners hiding from all authorities.
