1. John J. Prentiss was b. c. 1847-1848 in NY. He seems not to appear in census records until 1910 when he appears in the census for of Utica, Oneida Co., NY, with his wife. The 1920 census shows them in Bennington, Chittenden Co., VT.
He m. Ellen A., b. 25 Jul 1847, Milton, VT, and d. 25 Jul 1922 in Burlington, Chittenden Co., NY, age 75 years. She was the dau. of T. S. Sanderson (b. VT per 1910 census) and Betsey Reynolds (b. English Canada per 1910 census).
Both were then in their 60s. No children appear in the household and it is unknown if they had children.
The only clue we have so far is that John's father was b. in England and mother in Scotland.
Investigation is continuing.
