not our William M. Prentice. They are contemporaries in Kentucky.1880 Alabama
Census, Blount County, William's age is listed as 70 years. His son, Wesley
G. Prentice listed his age in that census as 48 and his birth place as
Virginia as does his wife. Leads one to think that William must have moved
back to Virginia for a short while or went to visit kinfolks for the birth
of Wesley G. Samuel West, Sussaniah's father might have been
living in Virginia then. On the other hand, the 1850 Alabama Census
shows the birth place of Wesley G. as Alabama. This information must have
been given by his parents. Seems more likely that he was born in Alabama.
On the 1830 Jackson County, Alabama Census, his name is given as William
M. Prentice. Had 2 white males between 10-15 years, 1 white
male 20-30 years,1 white male 50-60 years. His sons, John B. and Samuel
W. were listed in the census as separate households. On the 1840
Marshall County, Alabama Census, William has 1 white male 5-10 yr.,
1 white male 10-15, 1 white male 20-30, 1 white male 50-60, 2 white females
under 5, 1 white
female 5-10, 1 white female 10-15, 1 white female 15-20 and 1 white
female 50-60. On this census, his sons, John B. and Joshua are in their
own households in Blount County, AL.. Samuel W. is in Marshall County.
He was married to Susannah WEST (daughter of Samuel WEST) on Jan 21 1805 in Richmond, Madison Co., Kentucky. Susannah WEST was born about 1788 in Botetourt Co., Virginia. She was buried in Red Hill Community near Beech Creek, Blount County, Al. William M. PRENTICE and Susannah WEST had the following children:
