1. Daniel PRENTICE was born after 1745 in Virginia.
He died before 1820 in Kentucky probably.. Extract of the original court
recordes of Augusta County, Virginia 1745-1800 noted August 31, 1764, Zebulan
Harrison vs Daniel Prentis on a bond payable to Mr. Harrison. Must have
sold his land to settle debt and moved to Kentucky. Does not appear on
any of Virginia's tax lists or
census after 1790. Have a copy of emmancipation document from
Botetourt County, Virginia wherein he freed a male slave named Robbin on
9/14/1790. This must have occurred at about the time he moved to
Kentucky. He made his mark on that document. Located in Deed Book 4, Page
211, Botetourt County Circuit Court Clerk's Office.
