Constance Ann Prentiss

THOMASTON - Constance Ann Prentiss, 68, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 16, 2005, at her home.

Born in St. George, May 22, 1937, she was the daughter of Leland and Helena Andrews Beal. Moving to Rockland at an early age, she attended local schools.

In earlier years, she worked at several area fish factories.

June 23, 1961, she married George A. Prentiss in Rockland. The couple lived in several mid-coast communities before settling in Thomaston in the late 1960s.

A devoted mother, Mrs. Prentiss dedicated her time to her children and family. More recently, she worked as a housekeeper.

She enjoyed doing puzzles and playing cards, especially Yahtzee. For the past 17 years, she loved her Pekinese, Travis.

Connie was pre-deceased by her husband George A. Prentiss, Sr. in 2005, a brother Gerald Beal in 2004 and a son Deland Lee Beal in 2002. She is survived by two sons, Richard E. Prentiss and his wife Nicole of South Thomaston, George A. Prentiss, Jr. of Thomaston; one daughter Pamela Prentiss and her husband Gary Seekins of South Thomaston; one brother Nathan Beal and his wife Doris of Union; five sisters, Janice McLennan of Spruce Head, Judy Jackson and her husband Colby of Windsor, Lorraine Carter and her husband Willard of Warren, Sharon Wooster and her companion Michael Roch of Waltham, MA, Karen Beal and her husband Fred of Rockland; eight grandchildren, Deland, Jr., Stacey, Shaun-tay, Angela, Misty, Philip, Nicholas, Katie; one great-grandchild Alyssa as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland, where a funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. The Reverend Dr. Linwood Welch will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in Seaview Cemetery, Rockport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ronald MacDonald House of Bangor, P.O. Box 1629, Bangor, ME, 04401, or Gary's House, 97 State Street, Portland, ME, 04101.
