In working with John Taylor of Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, England he requested assistance in tracing some of his wife's ancestors who were surnamed Prentice.

John Prentice, married Ann Grendige in 1744 at Willington, Bedfordshire, England.

John and Ann had a son Henry, who was baptised in 1755 and married Rebecca Lebon in 1778 at Wilshamstead, Bedfordshire. Children (per IGI and John Taylor):

  • Sarah PRENTICE, chr.4 Feb 1781 Blunham, Bedford, England
  • Louisa PRENTICE, b. 23 Oct 1785 Bluham, Bedford, England
  • John PRENTICE, chr. 22 Apr 1787 Blunham, Bedford, England
  • Edith PRENTICE, b./chr. 9 Nov 1788 Blunham, Bedford, England
  • Mary PRENTICE, b./chr. 2 Jan 1791 Blunham, Bedford, England
  • John PRENTICE, b./chr 13 Jan 1793 Blunham, Bedford, England. Their children included:
    • Jane Prentice, b. 1828 at Blunham. Jane died 1904 at Sandy, Bedfordshire. Jane married John Gailor in 1848 at Blunham. Their children included:
      • William Prentice, born 1853, Sandy.
      • Arthur Prentice, born 1867, Sandy.
  • Lucy Ezir PRENTICE, chr. 27 Jul 1794 Blunham, Bedford, England
  • Sarah PRENTICE, chr. 16 Oct 1796 Blunham, Bedford, England
  • William PRENTICE, b.chr. 18 Aug 1799 Blunham, Bedford, England
