Fn. 1:  Son of Samuel Wesley Prentice and b. c. 1860 and desc.of Wm. Prentis of VA.

Fn. 2:  He may be the James Prentice shown in the 1850 Shelby County, Alabama census 
	as b. c. 1784 with his wife, Margaret Prentice, b. c. 1798.  His roots have 
	not yet been identified.

Fn. 3:	Probably son of William Prntice of Blount Co., AL and b. c. 1836 and a
	desc. of Wm. Prentis of VA.

Fn. 4:  He is the son of William Prentice and Susannah West and b. 22 Jan 1832 
	in Jackson Co., AL.  He is a descendant of Wm. Prentis of VA

Fn. 5:	He may be the William who is a son of James Prentice in Fn. 2, above.
