Kenneth W. Prentice Sr., 88, died Thursday at Jupiter Medical Center, Jupiter.

He was a native of Bristol, Maine, and had been a resident of Hobe Sound for the past 16 years. He previously lived in Damariscotta, Maine. Before retiring, he owned Midcoast Energy in New Harbor, Maine, and Damariscotta, Maine, for more than 50 years. Mr. Prentice was a member of Bristol Masonic Lodge for 50 years and past president of the Alliance Club in Damariscotta. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hobe Sound.

Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Esther Prentice of Hobe Sound; a son, Kenneth Prentice Jr. of West Palm each, Fla.; two daughters, Georgia Leeman of Round Pond, Maine, and Betty Jane Stevens of Brandon, Fla.; a brother, Stephen Prentice of Round Pond, Maine; two sisters, Margaret Norton of Bath, Maine, and Mary Ella Prior of Bristol, Maine; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are by Young Prill Funeral Homes, Stuart, Fla.
