Shannon Leigh Willis Prentice October 7, 1968 - August 10, 2010 PHENIX CITY, GA Shannon Leigh Willis Prentice, 41 of Phenix City, AL passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at her home.
Mrs. Prentice was born October 7, 1968 in Columbus, GA, she was the daughter of Charles Willis and Jan Golden Hofmann.
She enjoyed reading, watching movies and loved being with her children.
She is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, John F. Prentice of Phenix City, AL; her mother Jan Hofmann of Springfield, VA; her father Charles Willis of Columbus, GA; two daughters, Megan Stenmark and Paxton Gordon both of Phenix City, AL; one step-son Gary Prentice of Millville, MA; one step-sister Morgan Willis of Columbus, GA; one step-brother Chandler Willis of Columbus, GA; a grandchild Connor Prentice; her mother-in-law Genivieve Prentice; much extended loving family and many caring friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. EST Monday, August 16, 2010 at Vance Memorial Chapel with Dr. Eugene Langner officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. EST at the funeral home.

- Paxton Gordon. 2010 in Phenix City, AL;
The only clue we have so far is from Shannon's obituary, above. It names John's mother as Genivieve Prentice. She may have been b. c. 1940-1944, perhaps in MA.Genivieve's husband was likely born in the 1930s.
