He m. JoAnn F. Morales, b. c. 1948, Waukegan, IL, and d. 15 Nov 1998, Newport News, VA, age 50. Her obituary reads as follows:

    Daily Press (Newport News, VA) - Sunday, November 22, 1998: JoAnn F. Prentice,NEWPORT NEWS

    JoAnn F. Prentice, 50, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, after a short illness. A native of Waukegan, Ill., she had been a Peninsula resident since 1988.

    The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command at Fort Monroe employed JoAnn since 1988. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the lady's guild and helped with the food pantry.

    Her brother, Charles B. Kegley Jr., and her father, Gregory Morales, preceded Mrs. Prentice in death.

    Survivors include her husband, retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. David J. Prentice of Newport News; her daughter, Lindsey J. Prentice; two sisters, Christine Gann of Waukegan, Ill., and April O'Brien of Las Vegas, Nev.; her mother, Rosemary Kegley of Zion, Ill.; one nephew, Roger Gann of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; and two nieces, Jennifer Lopez of Waukegan, Ill., and Melissa Myrick, M.D. of Fort Worth, Texas.

    Funeral services will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Newport News at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, by the Rev. Msgr. Michael D. McCarron. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, in Arlington National Cemetery.

    A loving mother, wife and friend, JoAnn brought sunshine into the lives of all she touched. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church Food Pantry, 100 Harpersville Road, Newport News, Va. 23601; or Catholic Charities of Hampton Roads, 12829 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, Va. 23602. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
