1. Mark Clinton Prentice was b. on 11 Oct 1953, obtained his SS# in IL, and d. 20 Jan 2008 in Rockford, Winnebag Co., IL, at the age of 54 years. He lived for a time in New Orleans, LA, and later moved to Rockford, IL, where he died. His obituary in the Rockford, IL, Times Picayune reads as follows:
- Mark Clinton Prentice passed away Jan. 20 in Rockford, IL. Mark was a long time resident of New Orleans
relocating after Katrina to Rockford. He had been ill for many years. He is survived by his wife, Dixie, many family
members, and friends. Especially Leise Dittmer, the best musician he ever helped make a cd with.

Mark Clinton Prentice, 54, died January 20, 2008. Born in Rockford, IL, on October 11, 1953, he resided in New Orleans, LA for over 30 years, returning in 2005.
He is the son of George & Marion (Kuppe) Prentice. Married to the former Dixie Powell in St. Louis, MO on November 30, 1971. Mark managed various restaurants & bars on Bourbon Street. Additionally, he earned an Associates Degree, becoming a paralegal.
He is survived by his wife, Dixie of Rockford. Three brothers, Patrick & Michael (Linda) Prentice, both of Cape Coral, FL, George (Esther) Prentice of Rockford. Two sisters, Renee (Jack) Rosquist, Mt. Morris and Peggy (Jerry) Gavin, Dracut, MA. He was a very special uncle to his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Also his very special great great niece, Riley Reynolds. Also survived by his beloved cats, Big Daddy and LS. Predeceased by his brother Gordon, parents and grandparents, to include his beloved grandfather Clinton.
A memorial gathering with a sharing of memories will be held at SUNDBERG FUNERAL HOME LTD. on Friday, January 25, 2008 from 5:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Memorials to the family.
