Introduction: We found the following family information posted by Theron Rogers on Rootsweb.com . A further revision has been made pursuant to Bonnie Weant's email contained in Scott Prentice's email of 21 Apr 2012.

1. Maria Thompson. We have conflicting information about her birth:

  • Bonnie Weant has a newspaper article found on OldFultonPostcards site. It was in the Oswego Daily Palladium of Dec. 2 1910, noting the 100 th birthday of Maria P. Hull and states that she was born on Nov. 27, 1810 in Bangor, ME and moved to Geddes with her parents, NY when she was a young girl.
  • However, the 1850, 1860 and 1900 census says she was b. in NY.

Maria d. 1910, and is bur. in Chase Cem., Lysander, Onondaga Co., NY. She moved to Geddes, NY, in the 1820's.

Maria m. 1st Henry Hull c. 1850 in Granby, Oswego Co., NY. They were later divorced. Henry Hull was b. c. 1808, NY, and d. 17 Dec 1880, Oswego Co., NY. They had 11 children, probably between 1831 and 1855, including the following 9 children described in census records and Ancestry.com:

  1. Eliza Hull, b. c. 1831, NY. At home in 1850 census in Granby, Oswego Co., NY,

  2. Harriet Hull, b. c. 1834, NY. At home in 1850 census.

  3. Olin/Oren Aaron Henry Hull, b. 15 Mar 1836, Salina, Onondaga Co., NY, and d. 27 Feb 1921, Schroeppel, Oswego Co., NY.. At home in 1850 census. He is likely the Oren H. Hull (1836-1921, Father) bur in the Chase Cemetary in Lysander, Onondaga Co., NY. 1870 census in Granby and indexed as Owen Hull, b. c. 1832 He m. 1st Ellen, b. c. 1850, NY. he had:
    1. Marcia Hull, b. c. 1870 and d. 1938. She m. N. Featherly who was b. 1865. Children, with additional information at Ancestry.com :

    1. Willis Theodore Hull, b. 10 Dec 1867 and d. 19 Mar 1951. He m. May Dewey and had Walter and Hazel Hull
    2. Eva Constance Hull, b. 18 Jun 1870 and d. 1957. She m. Allan Turney Stone and had Hubert A., Stone,Harold Hull Stone, Mabel Clare Stone and Edith Mae Stone.
    3. George Hull, b. 30 Jun 1879.
    4. Gertrude Hull, b. 1882.
    5. Floyd J. G. Hull, b. 13 Jul 1882 and d. Feb. 1945
    Most of Jacobs children have gravesites in Sherburne, Chenango Co. NY.

  6. Benjamin Franklin Hull, b. 15 Oct 1844, NY, and d. 1907. At home in 1850 census. In 1880 census in Sherburne with his wife, Alice, b. c. 1851, NY, and children. Not in 1900 census:
    1. James F. Hull, b. c. 1869, NY. 1880 at home.
    2. Emma Hull, b. c. 1873, NY. 1880 at home.
    3. George E. Hull, b. c. 1875, NY. 1880 at home.

  7. Charles Edgar Hull, b. c. 1847, NY, and d. 20 Sep 1864, Andersonville, Sumpter Co., GA, age 17. (Probably the Confederate Civil War Prison Camp ) At home in 1850 census. 1860 at home in Granby, Oswego Co., NY.

  8. James Hull, b. Feb 1850, NY, and d. the following year, 1851.

  9. James William Hull, b. 4 Nov 1851, Granby, Oswego Co., NY, and d. 4 Feb 1923, Fruit Valley, Oswego Co., NY.

  10. Esther A. Ella Hull, b. Aug 1854, Granby, Oswego Co., NY. 1860 at home in Granby.

Maria m. 2nd Mr. Prentice in the 1870's, probably at her place residence in Sherburne, NY His first name is not yet known. He died before 1900 as Maria is then called a Widow living with her son, Jacob, and his wife in Sherburne, NY. There were no children of Maria and Mr. Prentice since Maria was then in her 60's. Her tombstone in Chase cemetary reads "Maria Hull Prentice." Haven't found the first name of her Prentice husband yet.

2. Fred Hull, b. 1841, NY, and d. 1881. Not home in 1850 census.
