1. Doris M. Bentfield was b. 21 Dec 1931 in Batesville, Ripley Co., IN, and d. 14 Jan 2010 in Cincinnati, OH. Published January 15, 2010 10:37 am - Doris M. Prentice, 78, passed away on Jan. 14 at the Drake Center in Cincinnati. She was born in Batesville on Dec. 21, 1931 to Bertrand and Olivia (Ferkenhoff) Bentfield who were living in Batesville, IN, in the 1930 census. - Doris M. Prentice, 78, passed away on Jan. 14 at the Drake Center in Cincinnati. She was born in Batesville on Dec. 21, 1931 to Bertrand and Olivia (Ferkenhoff) Bentfield.
She worked at Hill-Rom until 1996. She also worked at Save-O-Lot. Prentice was a member of the Holy Family Church in Oldenburg.
Her survivors are brothers Charles Chuck Bentfield of Batesville aand Tim Bentfield of Floyds Knob, daughters Kathy Nobbe of Batesville and Donna (Late Marvin) Nobbe of Batesville, sons Mike (Luann) of Napoleon and Dan (Deb) Prentice of Holton, grandchildren Nick Nobbe, Amanda and Samantha Nobbe, Jarob Prentice, Paige Borgman and Jenny Simon and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters Jeanette Bedel and Wanda Bentfield.
Memorials can be sent to Boys Town of own choice c/o Meyers Funeral Home, 500 West Pearl St., Batesville, IN 47006. A funeral will take place on Sat. Jan. 16 at 11 a.m. with a mass of Christian burial with Rev. David Kobak O.F.M. officiating. The burial will take place at the Holy Family Church Cemetery.
Unfortunately no husband is mentioned in Doris' obituary, deceased or otherwise, so she may have been divorced.

- Donna Prentice. She m. (Late Marvin) Nobbe of Batesville.

Although only an educated guess, and since most folks marry someone who doesn't live very far away, Doris may have m. Richard F. Prentice, b. c. 1927 in Batesville, Ripley Co., IN.
