1. Henry Prentiss, (spelled Prentise in the 1860 census) was b. c. 1812 in Hanover Germany. He appears in the 1860 Lancaster, PA census with his wife, Caroline, also born in Hanover c. 1823. In the 1900 census, Henry is shown as a resident of the "Lancaster Co. Almshouse and Insane Asylum". Children per 1860 census:

  1. Sophia Prentiss, b. c. 1847, PA.
  2. Emma Prentiss, b. c. 1849, PA.
  3. Elizabeth Prentiss, b. c. 1851, PA.
  4. Caroline Prentiss, b. c. 1853, PA.
  5. Henry Prentiss, b. Jan 1857, PA. . . . . . . . . [2]
  6. Mary Prentiss, b. c. 1858, PA.
  7. George Prentiss, b. c. 1859, PA. He is shown as an unmarried Boarder in the 1900 Lancaster, PA census.

2. Henry Prentiss, b. Jan 1857 in Leacock Twp., Lancaster, PA. He d. 7 Jan 1929. Henry m. Mary Elizabeth Weidler, b. 27 Nov 1863 in Leacock Twp., Lancaster, PA, dau. of Franklin Weidler and Frances Mearig. He and his family are shown in the 1900 census as still living in Lancaster, PA and his name is spelled Prentice in that census record. The 1920 Lancaster shows him still living in Lancaster with his children, Henry and Anna, but without his wife who might then be deceased. In the 1920 Lancaster census he was living with his daughter, Anna. Children per 1900 census:

  1. Maude Prentice, b. Nov 1882, PA.
  2. Helen Prentice, b. Dec 1894, PA.
  3. Henry F. Prentice, b. 3 Dec 1896, PA. Living at home in 1910. The SSDI shows he d. c. Oct 1975 in Lancaster, PA. Not in 1930 census.
  4. Anna Prentice, b. Nov 1899, PA. Living at home in 1910. Living at home in 1920.
