He m. Eunice L. Congden on 17 Apr 1828 in Providence, RI. She was b. c. 1802 in Providence, RI, and d. 30 Oct 1890. She was the dau. of Ephraim Congdon (1760-1828) and Elizabeth Ashton (1766-1857). Ancestor Charts for Eunice can be found at Ancestry.com . Children:

1. Ann Elizabeth Prentice, b. 4 Mar 1833, Rochester, Plymouth Co., MA (per IGI). She m. 1st Benjamin F. Gilmore and had a son, Frank B. Gilmore. She m. 2nd Albert Smith per Ancestry.com .

2. Edmond Prentice was b. c. 1838, RI, and d. 5 Feb 1897 per RI Deaths. He appears in the 1870 Providence,RI. No wife is shown and his occupation is given as "Asst Marshal." Shown in the 1870 census as living with the 1838 Edmond Prentice as the head of the household is his mother, Eunoce. erroneously indexed as "Emmie Prentice."

Edmond later appears in the 1880 Providence, RI, census as Edmund F. Prentiss (indexed as Prentess), b. c. 1838, RI, as a Police Constable, with his wife.

He m. Anna M., b. c. 1848, NY (with both parents b. in NY). Anna appears in the 1900 Providence census, without Edmond, but with a servant, Albert W. Walker.

Living with them in 1880 is his mother, Eunice A. Prentiss, b. c. 1802, RI (with both parents b. in RI), undoubtedly the same person as the "Emmie Prentice" indexed in the 1870 census.

Children of Edmond Prentice and Anna per 1880 census:

1. Henry Wilson Prentiss, b. 10 Aug 1875, RI (per RI Births), and d. 22 Aug 1891, age 16 years. It shows his mother, Anna M., as b. in NY. 1880 at home in Providence, RI.
2. Mary E. Prentiss, b. c. 1879, RI, and d. 6 Mar 1885, age 6 years. It shows her mother as b. in NY. 1880 at home in Providence, RI.
