Update of 9 May 2004: Margie is the dau. of Carl and Artie Prentice who appear in the 1930 census in North Kansas City, Clay Co., MO. Carl was b. c. 1896, KS, as were both of his parents. Carl is the son of Luther Prentice and the grandson of Isaac Prentice of Sheffield, MA whose roots we are trying to identify.
The Kansas City Star obituary of 17 Feb 1993 reports that Margie M. Prentice was b. c. 1922 in Iola, Allen Co., KS and d. 16 Feb 1993 at North Kansas City Hospital. Prior to 1888 she lived in Greenwood, AR before returning to the Kansas City area in 1988. She was a Baptist.

Her obituary identifies her brothers and sisters as:
- Delbert L. Prentice, Liberty.
- Bill Prentice, Liberty. He m. Dorothy McEntire, dau. of Iva and Roy McEntire.
- Roy Prentice, Liberty. He m. Edith McEntire, dau. of Iva and Roy McEntire.
- Mildred Prentice who m. Mr. Dunn of Kansas City.
- Betty Prentice who m. Mr. Collins of Kansas City.
- Bonnie Prentice who m. Mr. Coleman of Colorado Springs, Colo.
A review of the 1920 census indicates only one Prentice family was living in Iola in 1920 where Margie was b. c. 1922. That was the family of Carl H. and Artie R. Prentice. They were then in their 20s, had a young son (Clyde) and are likely to have had additional children. Carl is the son of Luther Prentice and a descendant of Isaac Prentice whose roots we are trying to trace.
