Update of 19 Sep 2004: Lyle Prentice and his siblings are probably the children of James C. Prentice and his wife, Martha J. who appear in the 1900 and 1910 census in Paw Paw, Lee, IL, but not in the 1920 census, perhaps being by then deceased. James is #634 in our John3 eBook..
1. Lyle Prentice was b. May 1879 in IL. He appears in the 1900, 1910 and 1920 Brooklyn, Lee Co., IL census (but not 1930 census; see Milo, below) with his wife, Emma M., b. c. 1881 in IL, and children:
- Ethel E. Prentice, b. c. 1905, IL. See Milo, below.
- Milo J. Prentice, b. 23 Sep 1906, IL and d. 25 Apr 1997 in Rochelle, Ogle Co., IL (per census and SSDI. He appears in the 1930 census in Paw Paw, Lee Co., IL as the head of the household and living with his siblings, Ethel, Eva, Earl, Raymond and Dorothy.
- Neva/EvaM. Prentice, b. c. 1909, IL. See Milo, above.
- Earl W. Prentice, b. 17 Dec 1912 and d. Mar 1984, Boise, Ada Co., ID (per census and SSDI). See Milo, above.
- Raymond C. Prentice, b. 6 Nov 1913, IL and d. 15 Feb 1998, Paw Paw, Lee Co, IL (per census and SSDI). See Milo, above.
- Dorothy M. Prentice, b. c. 1916, IL. See Milo, above.
Also shown in Lyle's household in the 1910 census is Clara L. Politsch, called a step-sister.
Lyle Prentice might be a son of Asahel Prentice, edb6572, who lived in Lee County, IL. However, it should be noted that the names of Lyle's children do not match any known members of Asahel's family and descendants.
