Note: Confirming the 1851 Lesmahagow census record, by email of 3 Jan 2000, Jeane Crosbie advises that Margaret's Marriage Certificate both of them as then living in Hazelbank, Lanarkshire, and gives the names of Margaret's parents. Although hard to read, the surname of her father is Prentice, and the first name might be Thomas. The surname of her mother is Muit, and the first name might be either Jane or Janet. No other Prentice family in the 1851 census has a daughter, Margaret, except Thomas and Jane, #1, above.

She m. George Francis Crosbie 31 Dec 1867 in Hazelbank, Lesmahagow, Lanark. He was a gamekeeper and was the son of Robert (Gray) Crosbie and Helen Francis and was b. 11 May 1839. Children:

1. Robert Crosbie, b., c. 1868, Lesmahagow, Lanark.
2. Thomas Keith Crosbie, b. 9 May 1868, Lesmahagow and d. 25 Jun 1930 in Harvey, IL.. His children included:
   1. Josiah Crosbie, b. 1911 in Lesmahagow.
3. George Crosbie, b. 17 Jun 1871, Muttonhole Fens, Lesmahagow, Lanark, and d. 25 Dec 1952, Carluke, Lanark. He m. 1st Jane Hamilton Russell. Children:
   1. Elizabeth S. Crosbie.
   2. James Crosbie, b. 1874, Lesmahagow, Lanark.
   3. Jane Crosbie, b. c. 1876, Lesmahagow, Lanark.
   4. Margaret Crosbie, b. c. 1879, Lesmahagow, Lanark.

   George Crosbie m. 2nd Agnes McVey. At the time of his death he was a retired water water inspector in the County Hospital, Carluke.

   • (unknown) Prentice, b. 6 Jun 1894, Perth Scotland and d. in Stonehaven, near Aberdeen, Scotland on 6 Jun 1982. He married Mary Milne on 9 Sep 1921.
