Daniel Prentice of NY

Daniel Prentice of NY
By Linus Joseph Dewald Jr., Editor
Spring 2002 and Revised 8 Aug 2004

Update of 8 Aug 2004: Mystery solved: Daniel Prentice is #244 in our Prentice eBook.

We are helping Brian Dallas in tracing his Prentice family tree. Here is what we have so far:

1. Daniel Prentice was likely b. c. 1850-57 at an unknown location, perhaps in NY or perhaps in one of the abutting states such as VT, MA or PA. He m. Kate Martin in 1877 at an unknown location. Their marriage does not appear in the IGI. They had 1 or more children, including:

  1. Frederick H. Prentice, b. 24 Nov 1888. . . . . . . [2]

2. Frederick H. Prentice, b. 24 Nov 1888 at an unknown location, (perhaps in NY since his son, Robert, is called "of NY"). The name of his wife is not known. He does not appear in the IGI.He had 1 or more children, including:

  1. Robert Daniel Prentice, b. 1914. . . . . . [3]

3. Robert Daniel Prentice, b. 1914 and called by Brian "of NY." The name of his wife is not known. He does not appear in the IGI. He may, or may not, be the Robert D. Prentice shown in the SSDI as b. 5 Jun 1914, who obtained his SSDI in OH, and who d. 5 Nov 2001 in Warners, Onondaga Co., NY; however, there is a problem in that Robert's daughter,Shirley, was b. in Hampden, MA. In any event, Robert had 1 or more children, including:

  1. Shirley Prentice of Hampden, MA. . . . . . . [4]

4. Shirley Prentice of Hampden, MA. She m. Mr. Dallas. They had 1 or more children, including:

  1. Brian Dallas.
