An exceedingly pleasant event transpired Wednesday evening,
in the marriage of Dr. James C. Pence, of Spencerville, 0.,
to Miss May Griswold, of Middlepoint. The wedding was
solemnized at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr.
and Mrs. D. Griswold, in the presence of about sixty
invited guests, by Rev. R. Rauch, Pastor of the M. E.
church, of Middlepoint. A. G. Stouder, of Troy 0., was
grooms-man and Miss Eva Morton, of Delphos, brides maid.
The groom is so well and known in social and business
circles, not only at Spencerville, where be is located
for the practice of medicine but also throughout this
county, where he formerly resided, as not to require
from us special mention of personal qualities. The bride
is one of Middlepoint's most accomplished young ladies,
and is highly respected by all her acquaintances. The
bride was the recipient of quite a number of costly and
appropriate presents. The bride and groom departed yesterday
morning for their new home at Spencerville, where they will
at once proceed to house-keeping. The happy couple will
please accept our heartiest congratulations. --- Van Wert Times.
