She was predeceased by her parents William and Marie Prentiss, brother William M. Prentiss, Jr, and sister Ellen Prentiss Adams. She is survived by her husband of 58 years David W. Duke, daughters Mary Ellen Daniel, and husband Dan. Theresa Duke Knowles and husband Andy;5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister Mary Prentiss McKinney and a host of family and friends. She is also survived by her 2 fur-babies Schatzie and Scrappy.

Services will be private. Family and friends can meet at the home Dec 30, 2015 from 5pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that contributions be made to the Freda H. Gordon Hospice and Palliative Care of Tidewater, 260 Grayson Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23462 www.hpctidewater.com, local chapter S.P.C.A, or Union Mission. She m. David W. Duke c, 1957.
